The National Oceanography Centre (NOC) has just announced a strategic partnership with TMA BlueTech®.

This will advance the sustainable Blue Economy and BlueTech in the UK/US by introductions and joint events designed to encourage collaboration in each other’s geographical markets.

Huw Gullick, Managing Director of NOC Innovations Ltd, said “We are pleased to sign this MOU with TMA BlueTech. TMA activities in the U.S. and internationally are of interest to NOC researchers and affiliated companies. The capabilities that exist in the ocean science and marine technology sectors in the US and the UK are vast and the opportunity to more formally link two major organisations in these areas together is fantastic. It will serve as a great platform for collaboration between us and our members”.

Joint research projects and exchange visits are also envisioned. Michael Jones, President at TMA BlueTech, said “It is exciting to be taking our relationship with the globally respected NOC to the next level. This link will benefit BlueTech companies affiliated with both organizations while furthering the special UK/US relationship”.

Emily Cloke, British Consul General in Los Angeles “The UK and USA are key partners across BlueTech. This MOU is a great example of a transatlantic science and innovation link, with a focus on sustainably growing our economies”

The benefits of this new partnership will include:

  • Making introductions and pursuing bilateral corporate and scientific opportunities
  • The development of joint seminars and events
  • Facilitating cross-Atlantic knowledge on funding opportunities
  • Potential to utilise each other’s facilities when visiting
