A team from the NOC Marine Geology department will be at the British Geological Survey Open Day this Saturday in Keyworth, Nottinghamshire, which promises ‘something for rock lovers of all ages – from newbies to experienced earth scientists’.
The NOC display will cover: Using Robot technology scientists at the National Oceanography Centre are studying what lies at the bottom of the ocean. Could these mineral rich rocks hold the key to finding new reserves of vital resources? See and touch these deep sea rocks, learn about the robots helping to find them, and about the impact underwater mining might have on the local ecosystems.
The British Geological Survey will hold an Open Day at its Environmental Science Centre in Keyworth on Saturday 1 July 2017 from 10 am to 4 pm (last entry 3pm).
