The NOC will be at the naming of the new polar research ship, RRS Sir David Attenborough, at the Cammel Laird shipyard in Birkenhead this week, and will have a stand at the Ice Worlds festival of discovery (27-28 September).

Visit us on stand A08 to learn about the Arctic food chain, make your own phytoplankton, discover microscopic foraminifera, and see our working tide gauge in action to find out how sea level is measured.

Ice Worlds is a free educational event designed to inspire children and young people to learn about the exciting field of polar and marine science. The event is part of a three day celebration of UK science and engineering, organised by the British Antarctic Survey, which will also see the Royal Ceremonial Naming of RRS Sir David Attenborough, which will be attended by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Sir David Attenborough (Thursday 26 September).
