Climate, the circulation of the ocean and the atmosphere, air-sea interaction and tropical meteorology. My work involves the analysis of data from observations and global coupled ocean-atmosphere models.

Examples include:

• Investigating the role air-sea fluxes in causing rapid changes to the circulation of the North Atlantic Ocean.
• Improving our estimates of exchanges of heat and freshwater between the ocean and atmosphere.
• Investigating the variability of rainfall and the atmospheric circulation over Africa and the surrounding oceans.
