Overview
I'm the technical lead of the Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level (PSMSL), which since 1933 has provided the global dataset of mean sea level measured at tide gauges. We work with many operators of tide gauges from around the world to provide data to whoever wants to use it.
As the technical lead, I'm responsible for the PSMSL website, its internal data storage systems, and the software we use to update both. I also provide advice to providers and users of tide gauges on issues around the collection, quality control, storage, distribution, and analysis of tide gauge data.
I also maintain the PSMSL's GNSS-IR portal, providing sea level data using GNSS interferometric reflectometry.
Other responsibilities
- Best practice in sea level measurement and quality control
- Best practice in tidal analysis
- Recovery of historical tide gauge data
- Quality control of UK South Atlantic data
