King’s / Queen’s Birthday Honours

Two former staff of the National Oceanography Centre have been awarded MBEs for services to marine science. The announcement was made in the Queen’s birthday honours list this month.

The National Oceanography Centre’s project officer for both RRS Discovery and James Cook, Edward Cooper, has been awarded an MBE for services to marine science. The announcement was made in the Queen’s birthday honours list this month.

Warm congratulations to Pam Talbot, formerly departmental secretary for Biology, Biogeochemistry and Ecosystems, who received an MBE in the recent Queen’s birthday honours list. The award is for services to the National Oceanography Centre and its predecessors over a period spanning 45 years.
