Partnership project delivers collaborative marine robots for deep water surveys

A project led by ASV Global, working in partnership with the National Oceanography Centre (NOC), Sonardyne International Ltd and SeeByte, has successfully delivered a long endurance, multi-vehicle, autonomous marine survey solution.

Changes to NOC Strategic Business Development Leadership

Last week saw the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) host its third Marine Autonomy and Technology Showcase (MATS) at the Southampton waterfront site.

The three-day event included 50 keynote and technical presentations describing the latest developments in marine robotic technology, and provided an effective forum for networking and discussion between delegates.

£19 million government investment in NOC technology announced

The government this week announced an investment of over £19 million into NOC platforms and sensor development through the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF).

NOC at Seawork International 2017

Adam Schink, the NOC’s Marine Robotics Innovation Centre Manager, will present at Seawork International 2017, on Tuesday 13 June. The session will examine how businesses can engage with the NOC Innovation Centre, explore what funded support is available for collaborative R&D, and discuss how to access specialist expertise and testing facilities.

Funding awarded to NOC’s Innovation Centre to support space entrepreneurs 

Three business incubation centres across the UK – including one in the NOC’s Innovation Centre – have been awarded £150,000 from the UK Space Agency.

The UK Space Agency (UKSA) is working to deliver world-class science innovation support, in line with the government’s Industrial Strategy, which emphasises the importance of science, innovation and skills.
