Lyme Regis Fossil Festival

The Lyme Regis Fossil Festival returns!

From 3 - 5 May Lyme Regis waterfront will be transformed into an exhibition of geology and fossils, for the ‘Coastal Treasures’ themed Lyme Regis Fossil Festival.

The festival will explore the ancient marine habitats that produced the cliffs that we see today, whether chalk, lias, or red mudstone.

As well as scientists from the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton, the festival will bring together exhibits from the Natural History Museum, Lyme Regis Museum, Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre, Plymouth University, Isle of Wight Museum, British Antarctic Survey, Dorset Geologists, the Paleontological Association, the Buckland Club and the Jurassic Coast Team.

Lyme Regis sits at the heart of the Jurassic Coast, England’s only Natural UNESCO World Heritage Site.
