Creating an even more inclusive workplace culture is an ongoing priority for marine science institutions worldwide.

Given the unique working environment of research ships and the potential to be at sea for weeks or even months, it is essential to promote positive values that instil respect for their colleagues.

The National Oceanography Centre (NOC) recently signed a Letter of Cooperation with the UN International Seabed Authority (ISA) to support initiatives for the inclusion of women in deep-sea research.

As part of the National Oceanography Centre’s (NOC) commitment to Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI), Dr Alice Marzocchi, and Dr Eleanor Darlington are championing the National Environment Research Council (NERC) funded FindAScienceBerth project, alongside project lead Dr Anna McGregor from the University of Gl
