The National Oceanography Centre has welcomed the news that its owning body, the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) will receive £10 million over the next two years for research and development of Marine Robotics.

Research into a process that is threatening to wipe out coral reefs, by a scientist at the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton, has been recognised with a prestigious award worth 1.29 million euros.

NOC secures UK contract for tidal ‘early warning system’

The contract to inspect and maintain the United Kingdom’s network of tidal gauges – the country’s early warning system for coastal flooding – has been won by the National Oceanography Centre.

The contract, worth £1,080,000 over four years, was awarded by the UK’s Environment Agency.
