Monday 14 – Friday 18 November 2016

With 2016 set to be a packed year for the MARS team and the Marine Robotics Innovation Centre, the 2016 showcase will move to 14 – 18 November 2016 giving the opportunity to cover all of the highlights of 2016.

As part of the UK Government ‘Eight Great Technologies’ initiative, means that the NERC MARS facility now comprises the largest and most diverse research fleet of marine autonomous systems in Europe. The aim of this one-week programme of MARS events is to ensure that potential end users and industry partners are fully aware of the capabilities of the upgraded fleet, which includes Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) and submarine gliders. Mechanisms for including MARS facilities in future NERC and EU funding proposals will be explored. In addition, a series of bolt-on workshops will target specific technical issues, such as legal and operational considerations of MAS deployments, take-up of new AUV technology for policy purposes, the capabilities of the NOC Marine Robotics Innovation Centre and a full round up of the key milestones of the 2016 season.

The programme has been designed to minimise travel for attendees who may wish to participate in multiple events.
