Marine Autononmous and Robotic Fleet with the RRS Discovery

Come and listen to Helen Oldridge, the NOC's Head of Scientific Engineering, discuss innovative engineering and the importance of diversity.

The Scientific Engineering Group is responsible for the management, preparation and operation of a diverse range of equipment within the UK's National Marine Equipment Pool; from CTDs and acoustic surveys through to large scale seismic operations. This scientific equipment is deployed on the NOC's RRS Discovery, RRS James Cook as well as a range of other vessels including those operated by British Antarctic Survey and European partners.

Helen will be speaking about the importance of diversity in teams and highlighting several recent innovative expeditions that have benefited from it, as well as how we can improve diversity in the future.

This talk forms part of our support for the annual International Women's Day which takes place on the 8 March 2020.
