I am a lab manager for the Ocean Biogeochemistry and Ecosystems (OBE) research group as well as the health and safety advisor for OBE.
My main scientific roles are to support the science that our research group does by running the segmented flow autoanalysers and the dissolved oxygen titration instruments both at sea and in the lab whilst also supporting work involving primary production, calcification and silicate uptake using highly sensitive radiotracers.
My work as the health and safety advisor means I help coordinate packing and freighting of hazards goods for our research cruises as well as act as a liaison between the ships and the science on health and safety matters. Closer to home I can advise on a number of health and safety issues OBE staff and students may have.
I am a member of the NOC Health and Safety Committee
