Since joining NERC in 1989 I have helped to develop, maintain and run ground-breaking, high resolution ocean models of the Global Ocean circulation. In recent years I have also worked with NOCS colleagues to include biogeochemical components within the global ocean model framework. My specific interests concern: the role of eddies in the global ocean circulation, ocean model development and High Performance Computing.
Large scale ocean modelling
Over the years I have been closely involved with the following modelling projects:
- FRAM (The Fine Resolution Antarctic Model)
- OCCAM (Ocean Circulation and Climate Advanced Modelling project)
- NEMO [current] (the NuclEus for Modelling of the Ocean)
