NOC at Seawork International 2017

Adam Schink, the NOC’s Marine Robotics Innovation Centre Manager, will present at Seawork International 2017, on Tuesday 13 June. The session will examine how businesses can engage with the NOC Innovation Centre, explore what funded support is available for collaborative R&D, and discuss how to access specialist expertise and testing facilities.

Top diplomats from across the world visited the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton last week to learn about the UK’s global leadership in marine and maritime science and technology, resulting in a flurry of interest in working with the NOC and UK marine companies.

New centre to help link satellites with robot-subs


The NOC is to form part of the new Centres of Excellence in Satellite applications, which is expected to aid economic growth in the Solent region. As part of this new centre the NOC will develop the technologies to help robot-subs use live satellite data to inform their route through the ocean, not unlike drivers using live traffic updates.
