Over the past 10 years, the University of Bremen EM group has developed a suite of benthic EM-Profilers, namely NERIDIS II, III and GOLDEN EYE, and techniques to map the electric and magnetic properties of the shallow marine subsurface making use of compact central loop EM induction sensors. This talk will address case studies of submarine groundwater discharge, heavy (magnetic) mineral enrichment and bedforms in coastal environments, sediment patterns on continental shelfs, and seafloor massive sulfide deposits on mid-ocean ridges.
