My research interests focus on the construction of the oceanic crust at mid-ocean ridges and its development as it ages. I predominantly work with data acquired using ships and underwater robots (AUVs and ROVs) to map the seafloor and learn about the processes that have formed it, from volcanic eruptions to the occurrence of volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits and Ferro-Manganese crusts. Currently I am working on several projects, including the MarineE-tech project at NOCS, that aim to go beyond mapping with hydroacoustic data and using other information derived from it to estimate ages, thicknesses and other properties.
