My research expertise is on the areas of computational geoscience, rock physics modelling, and offshore geotechnics. I develop/use quantitative techniques to understand the response of marine geological systems to anthropogenic and natural changes at human to geological time scales. My research interests include: seafloor and sub-seafloor geohazard and infrastructure stability assessment; climate change-induced hydrate-sourced methane emissions; hydrocarbon exploration and reservoir development; geological CO2 storage and leakage; assessment of methane hydrate as a clean fossil fuel energy resource; sub-seafloor quantitative characterization using remote geophysical techniques.
