Science for industry and the public sector

NOC focuses on marine science and oceanographic technology development, most of which is useful to industry and public sector bodies. NOC aims to provide sustainable solutions to environmental challenges, and to contribute to the evidence base for policy making and regulation.

All of our research groups are actively involved in industry partnerships and applied research and NOC's research makes a substantial contribution in many business and industry sectors. Two-way interaction is essential to ensure that NOC's science is useful and used. We need to engage partners in our research from the outset, to ensure its relevance. We can work with you to help you access and understand our scientific outputs.

Some of NOC's recent initiatives in the business and policy areas are on the 'Impacts and case studies' page.
