As a hosting partner of the National Oceanography Centre, the University of Southampton enjoys a collaborative and multidisciplinary relationship with NERC colleagues based at the National Oceanography Centre Southampton on the University's waterfront campus. This close and fruitful relationship dates back to the creation of the Southampton Oceanography Centre in 1995.
NOC is closely involved in the University-led Southampton Marine & Maritime Institute(SMMI) which embraces a wide range of disciplines, but the University’s Ocean and Earth Science Research Groups where NERC scientists enjoy closest collaboration with their University counterparts are:

As a hosting partner of the National Oceanography Centre, the University of Liverpool enjoys a collaborative and multidisciplinary relationship with NERC colleagues based at the National Oceanography Centre, co-located on the University of Liverpool campus.
