I am interested in elemental cycling by zooplankton, and the biogeochemical processes that affect the production, export and remineralization of sinking matter throughout the water column. I use a combination of shipboard measurements, laboratory analyses, data synthesis and numerical modelling. I have a strong practical background in zooplankton ecology and the characterization of particle fluxes. My research is highly interdisciplinary, combining the work of a number of national and international partners. I principally work independently, yet highly value the importance of teamwork for interdisciplinary process studies.
