Dr. Matt Donnelly is the lead Data Scientist for the British Oceanographic Data Centre's contribution to the international Argo programme of profiling floats.

As BODC Argo Lead, Matt oversees and contributes to the work of the Data Assembly Centre (DAC) which provides near real time processing for UK, Irish, Mauritian and Euro-Argo floats.  Matt leads the Delayed Mode Quality Control (DMQC) group which makes the near real time data ready for research quality applications, and also coordinates the work of the Southern Ocean Argo Regional Centre (SOARC) in ensuring the development of Argo array in the Southern Ocean and ensuring the quality of the data.

Matt completed a PhD in observational and physical oceanography of the Southern Ocean at the University of Liverpool before joining BODC in 2014.
