Large-scale oceanic circulation and its role in the Earth's climate system.

I am currently involved in the UK-based DEEP-C project, which aims to  identify the mechanisms explaining the reduced global surface warming rate since around 2000. I am using oceanic observations (Argo - mooring - hydrography) to compute new estimates of global heat content changes in the recent years, to identify key oceanic basins and investigate the underlying mechanisms (heave, water mass property changes).
