Government
NOC is a key source of expert marine scientific advice and guidance for civil servants, government officials and politicians. Staff serve on government committees and expert groups, provide answers to Parliamentary Questions and sit before Parliamentary enquiries to answer questions about our marine environment. Examples include the provision of support for the government's Marine Science Coordination Committee, leading the UK delegation to the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO, providing advice to Defra, DECC, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Devolved Governments.
