Professor Sir David King chairs the National Oceanography Centre’s Advisory Council. The council’s inaugural meeting took place on Monday 12 January 2011 at the Institute of Physics in London.
The council will be advising on the strategic development of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) National Oceanography Centre and its engagement with the wider community, including policy makers, industry and the public.
Our research is intended to tackle the big environmental issues facing the world. Research priorities will include the oceans' role in climate change, sea level change and the future of the Arctic Ocean.
The University of Southampton and the University of Liverpool both offer a range of highly regarded undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in Ocean and Earth Science.
